Honeybee Nucs - 2026 price $200.00

We start taking orders March 1st of each year.

We are a small apiary and have limited amount of nucs for sale. 10 - 20 are usually available, some years more.

Mid May - July We offer honey bee nucs for sale from our Michiana overwintered stock. We are not migratory bee keepers ( those that take their bees to California or Florida for pollination services) We cannot offer bees in April as some of these operations can. Extreme weather can delay mid may nucs, and some lucky years speed things up! mother nature and the bees dictate when they are ready to go to your apiary.

It is a small starter colony of honey bees

What is in a nuc?

A full box of honey bees ( five frames )

2-3 Frames of brood ( baby bees)

1-2 Frames of food ( honey, nectar, bee bread )

1 Queen - Queens may be Italian, Carniolan, " Carni " or a hybrid Italian/Carni cross.

2026 prices - $200.00 includes the price of the nuc box - no box deposit or return required.

NOTICE honey bees can quickly overheat in a closed nuc box, please keep this in mind when picking up and transporting your bees, think of them as a baby or pet in your vehicle, if either will overheat in your vehicle, so will the bees! keep them cool but not cold.

Once home, if not immediately installing into your chosen hive, place them near where they will be, elevate them off the ground and open the entrance even if its after dark. Better to have them opened late then forget and cook them later - yes it has happened, and is devastating when it does.

Please do not wait for weeks before installing them into your chosen hive, as crowded bees will swarm and this includes bees in a nucleus hive!

Place the frames in the middle of your hive body with enough frames on either side to fill your hive. We like double or triple waxed foundations to get the girls drawing comb fast.

Feed your girls 1 to 1 sugar syrup - equal amounts of sugar ( plain white sugar ) and water, hot water helps the sugar dissolve quicker, stir until all crystal are gone, cool before pouring into your chosen syrup feeders.

Queen Bees - 2026 price $40.00

We offer a limited amount of healthy queen bees every year starting in mid May.

Our Italian, Carniolan cross queens queens are open mated, Strong and healthy with good laying patterns and high overwintering survivability.
